- Charlie Tex
- I’ve always loved patches. Last year I was in a thrift store and saw a fantastic patch that said OREGON IS FOR LOVERS. I bought it, found one of my son Charlie’s blank T-shirts, sewed on the patch and added some decorative hand stitching. When Charlie wore the shirt out and about, all sorts of people would stop and ask me where I bought it. Always eager to embark on a new crafty project, I decided to design some patches that were close to my native Oregonian heart, stitch up a batch of shirts, and make a go of it. And so, Charlie Tex came to life! By the way, Tex was my grandma’s nickname, and is my son’s middle name. Charlie Tex originals are hand-stitched around the neck and sleeves, and a patch is sewn on right over the heart. We use American Apparel t-shirts and one pieces, which are cozy, soft and made in a sweatshop-free environment. If you have any birthday/baby shower/holiday/school shopping to do for the Oregon-loving kids you know, a Charlie Tex original is a festive, unique gift choice!
